Jennifer Schulz-Johnston, MS, LPC

Jennifer is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in troubled
children/teens, play therapy, and women’s issues. She provides family,
individual, and parent-child attachment therapy.  Jennifer is certified in Eye
Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing
(EMDR is a preferred treatment for abuse and trauma).  

Jennifer provides outpatient counseling in Eau Claire.  She also participates in
day treatment as a lead therapist.
Carey Chrouser, MS, LPC

Mikan Regional Administrator- Eau Claire & Outpatient Counselor

Carey is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in treating trauma and
abuse victims.   She provides individual, and family therapy services for children,
adolescents, and their families.  Carey is also the contact person for our
internship and practicum programs.

Carey provides outpatient counseling in Eau Claire and Mondovi.  She also
participates in day treatment as a lead therapist.
Dr. Nina Albanese-Kotar, Ph.D.

Nina is a licensed psychologist, member of American Psychological Association,
and Wisconsin Psychological Association.  She specializes in addictive behaviors,
perfectionism, multi-cultural issues, stress management, family and relationship
concerns, trauma, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, adult
attention deficit disorder, and school/workplace issues.  She provides individual,
couples, and family counseling options.

Nina provides outpatient counseling in Eau Claire.
Alison Lester, MS, LPC
Outpatient Counselor

Ali is a licensed professional counselor specializing in developmental issues
such as transitioning, identity development, and relationship formation.  She
provides counseling services for individuals and families with issues such as
anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, abuse, attachment issues, and
behavior management.  

Ali provides outpatient counseling in Chippewa Falls.  She also participates in
day treatment as a lead therapist.

MFHS is looking for a licensed psychologist
for our multiple western Wisconsin offices.  
Must have broad experience in assessments
of children, adolescents, and families with
the ability to do work with a wide spectrum of
disorders.  In addition, must have the ability
to supervise LPC staff in an adolescent day
treatment and outpatient setting.   Applicants
must have a Ph.D. and be fully licensed in
the state of Wisconsin as well as
Medicaid/insurance reimbursable.  A vehicle
and valid driver's license is required.

$50,000 / year
Benefits available after probation period.
Full / Part Time - Licensed Counselor
MFHS is looking for a licensed counselor to
provide outpatient therapy for our Eau Claire
location and possibly one or more of our
other locations.  In addition, you will provide
Lead Therapy in one or more of our Mental
Health Day Treatment groups for
adolescents and children.  Must have
experience working with children,
adolescents, and adults.  Applicants must
have a Master's degree and be licensed in
the State of Wisconsin as well as
Medicaid/insurance reimbursable.  A vehicle
and valid drivers license is required.

$30,000-$40,000 / year

Dr. Thomas Johnston, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Director of Marriage & Family Health
Services, Ltd.

Dr. Johnston is the founder of MFHS
and creator of  Mikan Trauma
Reprocessing and Resculpting
Therapy.  He has over 30 years of
experience working with children,
adolescents, couples, and families.   
Dr. Johnston's experience with trauma
includes working in an inpatient
psychiatric unit during the Vietnam war,
organizing a combat stress unit during
Desert Storm, and 15 years of working
with traumatized children in the Mikan
programs.

Dr. Johnston completed  his Master's
degrees in Marriage and Family
Therapy at University of
Wisconsin-Stout and in Psychiatric
Mental Health Nursing at  the University
of Texas-San Antonio.  His doctorate in
Clinical Psychology was earned at the
Union Institute.  Dr. Johnston is a
licensed Psychologist, Marriage and
Family Therapist, and Nurse.  

He is also a retired Associate
Professor for the University of
Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and a retired
Lieutenant Colonel for the United
States Army Reserve.  Dr. Johnston is a
member of the American Psychological
Association as well as an approved
Supervisor in the American Association
for Marriage & Family Therapy.
Tiffany Kula, MS

Tiffany is a Medicaid certified professional counselor who provides individual,
couples and family therapy for children, adolescents, and their families.  Tiffany
specializes in behavior management, trauma, and abuse.

Tiffany provides outpatient and intensive in-home counseling in Marshfield.  She
also participates in day treatment as a lead therapist.

Mark is a medicaid certified counselor who provides individual and family therapy
for children, adolescents, and adults.  He specializes in anger management,
sexual abuse, perpetration issues, and alcohol and drug concerns.

is not accepting new patients.  He also participates in day treatment as a lead

Association.  She provides treatment for general psychological disorders such as
